Summary edit

Description Ice on the so-called 'Steinrodsee' (de:Erholungsgebiet Steinrod) near Gräfenhausen (de:Gräfenhausen) / Erzhausen in Germany.

In a depressing example of behaviour from public authorities, water quality changes have turned this lake (an old gravel pit later designated as a public recreation space) into a place where everything connected with water (swimming, bathing, boating) is forbidden. There's a stream right next to it, which if diverted through the lake would take care of the water issues in a couple days. But nothing has happened for over a decade - in my personal opinion because the local 'permanent' camping ground people (think motor homes that haven't moved since they were bought) and the local fishing club members prefer people not to come to 'their' lake.
