Afrikaans: Hierdie blokhuise is in 1901 tydens die Anglo-Boereoorlog gebou. Hulle is deur die Britte opgerig om die spoorwegbrûe teen Boereaanvalle te beskerm. Die klip is lokaal ontgin terwyl die orige boumateriaal uit Brittanje ingevoer is. Hierdie blokhuise kon 20 mans huisves met water, ammunisie en voorrade wat in die onderste verdieping gestoor is. Die 'woonarea' op die middelverdieping was berykbaar met 'n intrekbare leer, en die boonste verdieping was die "uitkykdek". Slegs 1000 van hierdie blokhuise is gebou en min het oorleef. Hulle was baie effektiewe hindernisse en slegs enkeles het enige aksie beleef.
English: These Blockhouses were built in 1901 during the Anglo-Boer War. They were built by the British to protect the railway bridges from Boer Attacks. The stone is local while the remaining building materials were imported from Britain. These Blockhouses could house 20 men with water, ammunition and supplies stored on the lower floor. The 'living' area was on the middle floor and was accessible by a retractable ladder and the top floor was the "look-out deck". Only 1000 of these Blockhouses were built and few have survived. They were very effective barriers and few saw any action.
Deutsch: Diese Blockhäuser wurden 1901 während des Anglo-Boer-Krieges gebaut. Sie wurden von den Briten gebaut, um die Eisenbahnbrücken vor Angriffen der Buren zu schützen. Der Stein ist lokal, während die restlichen Baumaterialien aus Großbritannien importiert wurden. Diese Blockhäuser könnten 20 Männer mit Wasser, Munition und Vorräten beherbergen, die im Untergeschoss gelagert werden.
