Title
English: Women's waiting room at King Street Station, ca. 1906
Description
English: King Street Station opened for business in 1906. The building had a separate women's waiting room with comfortable furniture and flowers on the tables. In this elegant room, women could sit, write letters, or care for their children while they waited for their trains. A matron from the Seattle Police Department was there to help women who were new to the city.

This photo shows the women's waiting room at King Street Station in about 1906.
