Description |
English: Both native and non-native trout species live in the lakes and streams of Mount Rainier National Park. Over the years, the park service has regularly restocked these areas for people who want to fish. In 1925, no fishing license was required, and the daily limit per person was ten fish, six inches or larger. This 1922 photo shows two women fly fishing for trout at a rocky river in Mount Rainier National Park. The women wear fairly typical 1920s sportswear, including bloomers and boots. Their baskets, called creels, hold their fish. This is one of several photos Webster & Stevens took in 1922 to promote park activities. Inventory entry: Stream fly fisherwomen
