Petticoat Lane, London Photogravure by Donald Macleish from Wonderful London by St John Adcock, 1927. Middlesex Street is still known by its old name of Petticoat Lane. Some of the goods offered for an amazingly low price on a Sunday morning are not above suspicion of being stolen, and you may buy a watch at one end of the street and see it for sale again by the time you reach the other.
