English: Wooded-Sided Valley When the ancient granite Malvern Malvern hills thrust their way upwards through many layers of sedimentary rock the strata was turned from horizontal to near vertical. after millions of years of erosion this left ridges of hard rock with fertile ground between. Useless for crop production the north-south ridges are put to good use as a source of wood. |
