Русский: Гусеница ночной бабочки Медведицы-кайя (лат. Arctia caja) на сухом растении.

"Медведица-кайя (лат. Arctia caja) — ночная бабочка из подсемейства медведицы в составе семейства Erebidae. Стадия гусеницы — с сентября по май. Зимует гусеница. Длина около 60 мм. Окраска чёрная, покрыта длинными волосками с белыми кончиками. Гусеницы первого возраста покрыта серыми волосками, с желтоватыми полосками на спине. При опасности гусеница падает с кормового растения на землю, сворачивается и притворяется мертвой.

Гусеницы являются полифагами, питаясь листьями различными видами травянистых и кустарниковых пород растений. Основные кормовые растения: малина, ежевика, калина, жимолость, вереск, борщевик, дрок. Питаются также листьями таких пород, как яблоня, земляника, груша, слива." (Wikipedia)

Arctia caja is a northern species found in the US, Canada, and Europe. The larvae of A. caja are generalists, meaning they eat a large variety of plants without much specialization. However, most larvae of this species obtain their characteristic toxic compounds from their diet, which can vary from foxglove (and members of the daisy family) to species in completely other plant families, such as plantago."
