Title	Plate with Samson Killing the Philistines
Description	English: The Old Testament hero Samson was a traditional emblem of virtue, and his slaying of the Philistines symbolized the triumph of good over evil. The subject offered the opportunity to depict bulky muscular figures in frenzied action, with streams of blood trickling from the wounds caused by the spears. The action is set off by the serenity of the landscape.
