| Description |
English: Workshops at Rhiwbach Village viewed from the manager's house The long, narrow building on the extreme right was the Core Store. It was here that cores taken during deep boring operations were stored. Between 1871 and 1874 some 17 exploratory holes were bored on the Rhiwbach site, some almost 700 feet in depth. This was a slow and difficult task. It was the findings of these borings which led to the development of the Cefn End workings. |
