Summary edit

Description
English: This historic precinct was established circa 1830s CE by Major WH Sleeman in the central Indian town of Jabalpur (British India’s Jubbulpore). It remained lost in oblivion till, almost 175 years later, after much research, it was discovered by Beohar Dr Anupam Sinha - a biotechnologist who worked in UK and Canada. Arguably one of the world’s largest seamless carpet was hand-woven by Indian artisans in this precinct in circa 1880s CE. Initially, the entire precinct was a Reformatory School for highly-skilled dependents of outlawed Thugs (meaning: deceivers). Later, the main building was renamed School of Industry (or Industrial School). At present, the said heritage building is a part of Lalit KalaNiketan (meaning: abode of arts) Campus whereas its workshops are in use by the Home Guards. The incomparable sesquicentennial carpet is conserved in England and continues to adorn the Waterloo Chamber in London’s Windsor Castle of the British Monarch. This priceless carpet was one of the most precious gift that Queen Victoria received on the occasion of 50th anniversary of her reign, and when she was proclaimed The Empress of India.
