Summary edit

Description Close to the Royal Selangor Club is also this flag post. It's supposed to be the highest flag post in the world, and was put up when Malaysia attained independence. (hence the name Merdeka, or Independence Square). This is a long view, you cannot make out the height here. It is nearly 100 metres high. (95 to be exact). And yes, those ugly skyscrapers are springing up all over the place, all over the world. This may not be THE tallest flagpole in the world, but may be one of the tallest, for subsequently, the United Arab Emirates and Tajikistan have also put up claims of having the world's tallest flagpole. Jan/ Feb. 2012.
