Description The remains of Dutch 18 Squadron B25 Mitchell N5-140 on the foreshore at Nightcliff. This aircraft had departed Darwin for Japanese occupied Timor early in the morning of 5 April 1943 but crashed shortly after takeoff with the loss of all five crew. The remnants consisting mostly of the main spar and engines are only visible during more extreme low tides.
