Summary edit

Description The x-ray towers at NBS, which generated x-ray voltages as high as 1.4 1million volts. Though no longer the largest in the United States at the time this photo was taken, the equipment had voltage stabilization second to none. This was a feature necessary for the x-ray research at NBS that led to standard dosage measurements and x-ray protection standards.
