Description
English: The Yachting Association of India (YAI) 470/ 49er /Nacra Open Championship 2022 was conducted at INWTC Mumbai from 19 to 24 May 2022 in 10 Olympic classes of boats. A total of 84 participants from 12 sailing clubs registered for the event. This was a ranking event and selection trials for the Indian squad for Asian Games 2022. A total of 74 races were conducted in the sailing area off INWTC Mumbai. Commodore Superintendent, Sea Cadet Corps, Cmde Rabi Ahuja was the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony and gave away medals to first three positions in each class. The Navy Sailing Team dominated the Nacra17 and 470 class of boats by winning two Golds (Nacra17 and 470 class), one Silver (470 class) and one Bronze medal (49er class) in the event.
