Crucifix group in glass case

Center: El Señor de la Misericordia is the name commonly given to a devotional crucifix such as this one. (Loincloth, scutum with an image of the Lamb of God, golden crown of thorns.) Wood, gesso, paint; wig, silver and velvet loincloth and scutum; life size. Cross: gilded and carved green cross pieces with a stylized flower at the joint.

Left: St. Raphael (Silver fish tied to the right wrist, bouquet in the left hand, tunic, silver breastplate marked by the Dominican symbol of intertwined M's at the neck, greaves, plumed silver helmet.) Polychrome, carved hair, real feathers on the helmet. about 3' (90 cm.).

Right: An archangel, probably also St. Raphael (Pilgrim's staff in the left hand, bouquet in the right hand, tunic, silver breastplate marked by the Dominican symbol of intertwined M's at the neck, greaves, plumed silver helmet.) Polychrome, carved hair, real feathers on the helmet. about 3' (90 cm.).

In a case at the foot of the cross: Christ Child (Child dressed in long pink tunic, posed as if walking, holding a globe in the left hand.) Wood, gesso, paint and cloth; glass eyes; about 14" (36 cm.).
