Description Photo of the premiere of the film Yankee Doodle Dandy at New York's Hollywood Theatre. This took place some days before the film was released for viewing by the general public. Tickets for this special showing were only made available to those who bought War Bonds. In the horse-drawn carriage are former New York governor Al Smith and his wife.
Date The release indicated the event took place on May 29, but didn't give the year. The film was able to be viewed by the general public on June 6, 1942.
