Bracket arm clusters containing cantilevers, drawings from the Chinese building manual of the Yingzao Fashi, published in the year 1103 by Li Jie, an architect and official of the Song Dynasty.

This picture appears on page 100 of Joseph Needham's book Science and Civilization in China: Volume 4, Part 3, Civil Engineering and Nautics.
