Description
English: A U. S. Navy Douglas TBD-1 Devastator aircraft of torpedo squadron VT-5 from the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown (CV-5) flying over the Huon Gulf near New Guinea on 10 March 1942 during an attack on Japanese shipping supporting the invasion of Lae-Salamaua. The TBD-1 was piloted by Lieutenant Commander Joe Taylor, with CRM(PA) Harrison S. Nobbs as radio-gunner.
