Description
English: Ceramic coffin containing the remains of two different Zoroastrian sky funerals, found in a tomb in Tuyoq in the Taklamakan desert, 70 km east of Turfan, Xinjiang/Sinkiang, China. The Turpan Institute of Relics Administration examined the contents of the tomb in 1981 and concluded the remains are probably of Sogdian people, who lived in the area during the Gaochang (Western Uyghur) kingdom (mid 9th - late 13th century).
