Deutsch: Die Zwölfknotenschnur wurde bereits im alten Ägypten verwendet und besteht aus zwölf gleich langen Segmenten, die mit zwölf Knoten markiert werden können. Damit kann ihre Gesamtlänge halbiert, gedrittelt, geviertelt und gesechstelt werden. Ein aus ihr gebildeter Kreis hat einen Durchmesser von knapp einem Drittel (genauer einem Pi-tel) der Schnurlänge, und der Winkelabstand benachbarter Punkte beträgt vom Kreismittelpunkt aus gesehen genau 30 Bogengrad. Das aus der Schnur gebildete gleichseitige Dreieck hat eine Basislänge von einem Drittel der Schnurlänge sowie drei Eckwinkel von genau 60 Bogengrad. Der größte Winkel des aus der Schnur gebildeten Dreiecks mit den Seitenlängen von einem Viertel (), einem Drittel () und fünf Zwölfteln () der Gesamtlänge ist ein rechter Winkel mit genau 90 Bogengrad. |
