Note to User:Eissink edit

User:Eissink, if you "kindly" examine the File history, you will see that I only developed the categorization of this file. In my last edit, also, I refined a cat that I myself had added there earlier; and at the edit summary pinged a collegue known with their work in this area, so as to get my edit checked by them. However I met with a "revert" by you, which indeed was not a "revert" but a "cat change"; but for some reason you made it as if it were a revert. That is a rude attitude. I wanted you to know that. Please have a look at how many cats I have added to how many files and cats in Commons, and how many new ones I have created. I deserve a kinder attitude from other volunteers here. Regards. --E4024 (talk) 00:19, 29 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Dear E4024, I used the revert possibility to inform you of my change. I thought my use of ":)" would be sufficient to let you know that it was my way to answer the question you asked in your edit summary. If you believe my categorization is incorrect, please undo it. I had no intention, at all, to insult you, nor did I ever find a reason to even consider it (I wasn't even consciously aware of your work). I did not mean to be unkind, on the contrary, but please accept my apology if you still believe I was. Greeting, Eissink (talk) 00:34, 29 March 2021 (UTC).Reply
OK, forget it. Please do not repeat it with me or other people. If I have edited this file several times already, that means I follow it. I do not need "red lights" to see new changes. I note that you did not mean to be unkind, thanks. --E4024 (talk) 00:39, 29 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
@E4024: Thank you for reaching out! Although it is not a plaque in the strictest sense, most of its defining characteristics are indeed shared with plaques, so categorizing it under inscriptions is a bit imprecise (since almost all non-pictographic signs feature inscriptions). For now, I view these types of sculptures with inscriptions as featuring a sort of "embedded plaque," so until I come up with a formal definition for categorization purposes, I would consider it a plaque. —Iketsi (talk) 01:30, 29 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
What about Category:Pedestal texts, as a sub of Category:Pedestals, and then Category:Turkish-language pedestal texts? And then of course also Category:Pedestals in Turkey. Eissink (talk) 10:26, 29 March 2021 (UTC).Reply
@Eissink: Good thinking. Now, do we use "texts" or simply Category:Turkish-language pedestals as a sub of Category:Pedestals by language like we do with plaques, gravestones, and other things? —Iketsi (talk) 12:25, 29 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Good question. Basically, "language" and "texts" are different categories, so it depends on one's focus. Strictly speaking I'd say: why not both? We have Category:Texts, Category:Texts by language, and the severely underrated Category:Texts by medium, which could use (among many others) Category:Texts on pedestals (and then of course Category:Turkish-language texts on pedestals and so on). So I think it is a matter of choice. At the moment, I totally lack the time to further develop the "Texts"-categories, so I have to leave it up to you here.
