Public domain? edit

How can this image be released by the photographer into the public domain, when it contains a Swingline product featuring the distinctive Swingline logo, plus readable text from American Judaism, by Nathan Glazer, published by the University of Chicago Press? I don't know my Commons licensing rules by heart, but given that some officious soul once deleted an image of a Hasbro Inchworm toy that I had uploaded, how does this image stand? -- Thekohser (talk) 14:52, 27 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

The Swingline logo is obviously {{PD-textlogo}}. For the rest, the text might be de minimis, but if you suspect a copyright issue, please raise a COM:DR. Storkk (talk) 15:18, 27 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
The product itself is not copyrightable, it's a utilitarian object. The logo is tiny and easily passes COM:DM, and as the text isn't the subject that passes too. No issue here. -mattbuck (Talk) 22:56, 27 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
