That's not Staten Island. This is over the Bronx (Foxhurst? Maybe as far west as Morris Heights? You could ID the big buildings in the foreground) looking south and east toward Queens. Note the Whitestone Bridge on the right and the Throgs Neck Bridge on the center left. Ferry Point Park at the far base of the left bridge, the towers of Queens onto Manhattan in the distance, etc.
Under the tail you can see the salt storage dome of Hunts Point landing that identifies that docklands as Hunts Point. The long pier like structure coming in from the left is the landing lights from La Guardia airport.
Also, I live in Staten Island and there's no view from Staten Island that looks like that. All the big buildings, plus *two* Verrazzano sized bridges makes it impossible.
I assume this was mislabeled by the military photographer source. How do I change this to a correct caption and categories? 67.243.14.22 01:21, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
