{{Edit request}} This is a copyvio; per http://wiki.creativecommons.org/Frequently_Asked_Questions#May_I_use_the_Creative_Commons_logo_and_buttons.3F it's not PD. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Elvey (talk • contribs)

Please have a look at Commons:Threshold of originality. After reading that page, feel free to ask from community if you are not convinced. −ebraminiotalk 15:52, 20 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Please have a look at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Deletion_requests/File:Windows_logo_-_2006.svg. File:Windows logo - 2002.svg was deleted as well despite consensus against it! --Elvey (talk) 07:33, 9 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Indeed, I'd say we MUST use a special template for CC license icons just like the one we have for Copyright by Wikimedia].--Elvey (talk) 07:55, 9 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Intentionally misleading our users about legal issues is utterly unacceptable. And that's what the current File:Cc-by-sa.svg page does - it LIES - it tells users the content is CC-licensed. --Elvey (talk) 09:38, 9 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Not done, invalid request. Fails ToO, trademark warning is sufficient to prevent misuse.--Denniss (talk) 10:14, 3 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
Request removed from this file due to plausible claim the ToO is not crossed, but I've tagged File:Cc-by-sa.svg, which you've ignored, instead; no ToO issue justifies the invalid CC license there. As I said, the current File:Cc-by-sa.svg page LIES - it tells users the content is CC-licensed.--Elvey (talk) 00:30, 17 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

ToO edit

{{Edit request}}

If consensus is that ToO isn't passed, we should use the {{PD-textlogo}} template.--Elvey (talk) 03:52, 17 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Only a small part of this icon is a logo, therefore I think {{PD-ineligible}} is a better template.    FDMS  4    15:04, 17 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
Agree. And IMHO, the CC BY-4.0 (as applied in some CC logos) is not so good. Jee 16:09, 17 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
I disagree because I think File:Logo_plastique_3.png looks better with {{PD-textlogo}} and so would this. Agreed; it's blatant copyfraud to leave it in place. But I'm called a troll and/or reverted without so much as an edit summary when I point it out. :-) --Elvey (talk) 16:34, 17 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
Remember, this is what {{PD-textlogo}} looks like - seems perfectly fine even if "Only a small part of this icon is a logo". :

This logo image consists only of simple geometric shapes or text. It does not meet the threshold of originality needed for copyright protection, and is therefore in the public domain. Although it is free of copyright restrictions, this image may still be subject to other restrictions. See WP:PD § Fonts and typefaces or Template talk:PD-textlogo for more information.

Fact: This button is not a logo. If PD-ineligible gets replaced by PD-textlogo, the rest of the image is missing a license. If you don't like the wording of certain PD templates, make a protected edit request on their talkpages.    FDMS  4    16:53, 17 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
