What about the election of 1824? BD2412 T 19:39, 29 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the question. The article you linked shows it pretty clear: Jackson won both popular vote and Electoral College; and not with an outright majority, then Adams was elected by the House of Representatives. Furthermore they were both in the same party (en:Democratic-Republican Party), so I see it impossible to properly compare this within one chart. --SI 08:22, 1 December 2016 (UTC) Also: "In 1824, there were six states in which electors were legislatively appointed, rather than popularly elected, so the true national popular vote is uncertain. When no candidate received a majority of electoral votes in 1824, the election was decided by the House of Representatives and so could be considered distinct from the latter four elections in which all of the states had popular selection of electors.[4]" --SI 04:56, 3 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
