This flag is inappropriate for use in any wikipedia project edit
When I nominated this page for deletion, I was not aware of the Commons policy. It is now clear to me that for the files/ /iamges/ flags stored in the Commons, there is no requirement for reliable sources. However, as all Wikipedia projects require reliable sources, I must point out that there are no such sources for this flag.
The source used here is https://flagspot.net/flags/gr_wwii.html#pin
This source is inaccurate and non-appropriate for use in any Wikipedia project, as:
- it is talking about "declaration" of the Principality (in reality no such state was ever declared)
- it refers to Diamandi as a prince - he was never declared a prince, since there was never any such principality - Diamandi was the leader of the en:Vlach "Roman Legion".
- it is talking about "...the next ruler, a Hungarian adventurer...": I have not found any reliable source claiming any other leader after Diamandis and Matussis (certainly no prince, since there was never a principality)
- it refers to "he actual pretender, Prince Nicholas": In fact, en:Nicolaos Matussis, became a defacto leader of the so-called "Roman Legion", when Diamandi suddenly left for Romania
- finally, there is no mention anywhere about such a flag
Last, the reference mentioned in flagpost's entry is:
Jarig Bakker & Joseph de Ferrari, 12 August 2003
en:Joseph de Ferraris (1726 – 1814) was dead more than 100 years before the events
In conclusion: This flag is not only
- fictitious,
but most importantly
- does not have reliable sourcing
therefore, it is inappropriate for use in any wikipedia project. --FocalPoint (talk) 10:55, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
