Wrong identification

This is most likely R. stricta as is lignicolous. R. formosa has different colors than those pictured (see Franchi & Marchett 2021), has a different branching pattern and is ectomyccorizhal (i.e. grows on soil). Calybul (talk) 19:41, 5 February 2023 (UTC)

  Wisdom is anything stated by mycological experts, such as Franchi and M. Marchetti in their seminal Ramaria book I Fungi Clavaroidi in Italia (2021) ;)

  Another problem with this fruiting body is that it is uniformly ochre yellow. A color most Ramaria fade to when they get old making it very hard at that stage to tell them apart even with microscopy. R. formosa has characteristic salmon pink branches and pale yellow tips which this find does not have.

  For any future Ramaria IDs you should probably consult Martin Gotink. He's one of two Dutch Ramaria experts.

  Unless you object I'll change the description of this find to Ramaria sp. Both the branching, colors and substrate are wrong for R. formosa. Calybul (talk) 13:39, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
