You may use ULS for typing languages other than English in commons. Currently input methods for many languages including most of the Indian Languages available in ULS (complete list available here).

Disabling

Only if you are logged in with an account here you can switch this tool off by removing the checkmark ☑ in front of “⧼Narayam-enable-preference⧽” at your Preferences, section “Editing”.

The link “⧼narayam-menu⧽” on top of each page is displayed per default for every user using a language for which an input method is defined (there was a proposal to change this behaviour which may be seen as useless for some languages: phabricator:T34997).
