Lothian Buses: Dennis Trident / Plaxton President (04 reg)

English: The 04 registration (SN04 Axx) batch of the Dennis Trident / Plaxton President fleet of buses operated by Lothian Buses. A total of 45 were delivered from March to June 2004. Fleet numbering began at 662, a continuation from the 53 reg batch. The first five were for the airport fleet, delivered in Airlink livery. The remainder were for the standard fleet, being delivered in the simplified version of Harlequin livery. Most of these (the 667-700) arrived with major route branding for route 26. Seven buses have since been renumbered (666, to vacate the unlucky number, and 701-6 to vacate the series for 55-reg B7TLs), which sparked further renumbering in older Tridents. One bus, 661 (ex-706) spent some time in the guided bus fleet, becoming 661G. The Hearts buses were later debranded, while other minor brandings were worn by various buses on Harlequin base at different times. Some have lasted in service long enough to receive Classic livery.

Simplified Harlequin livery edit

Route 26 Hearts branding edit

No.s 667-700 arrived with major route branding, the Hearts scheme in the Playing Card series - see Lothian Buses: route branding. These buses were later debranded, to plain Harlequin.

Route 35 roundel branding edit

The airport buses were later cascaded to the main fleet, receiving Harlequin livery but with minor lilac based route branding for route 35 (also applied to other ex-airport Tridents). This was also briefly applied to standard bus 706/661.

Park & Ride minor branding edit

Ten buses, 691-700, received special Park & Ride branding consisting of a small green strip underneath the upper deck windows & logos on front, back & sides. This replaced the Harlequin based green roofed livery used on V-reg Tridents No.s 541-5. (those buses also wore a green stripe form of branding for route 35 which can be confused with the green stripe on these buses).

Classic livery edit

Bues which lasted long enough to be repainted into Classic livery variously received 'Lothian Buses.com' fleetname or the later TfE style 'Lothian Buses' fleetname, or one then the other.
