Rear door edit
Unlike on the original Routemaster, it is possible to convert the open rear platform on the NBFL into a conventional door while in service. There are two parts to the rear door: a flat forward half and a curved rear half. Both are left open at all times during two-person operation. By locking the curved section place, however, one-person operation is possible with the flat section of the door opening automatically at the direction of the driver (ie at stops), like the other doors.
