Gøta

Gøta is an old place on Eysturoy, Faroe Islands. It consists of the villages Norðragøta (Northern Gøta), Syðrugøta (Southern Gøta), Gøtugjógv (Gøta's cleft) and Gøtueiði (Gøta's isthmus). Together are they the municipality Gøtu kommuna.

Note: In Faroese, gøtu is the accusative, dative and genitive of gøta, which means verbally: "street".
