Pierogi
unleavened stuffed bun of Central and Eastern European origin
Pierogi (from Polish) or varenyky (from Ukrainian) are stuffed dumplings of East European origin made by wrapping pockets of unleavened dough around savoury or sweet filling. They are cooked in boiling water and then optionally sautéed.
