Routemaster bus RML2573

English: Routemaster bus RML2573 (reg. JJD 573D) was delivered to London Transport in September 1966. As with all RML buses, in the early 1990s it was re-engined (Iveco) and refurbished. It saw continual use in London into the privatisation era, passing in 1994 into the fleet of Cowie South London (which later became Arriva London South). It lasted in service right up to the final day of the final normal Routemaster route, Arriva's route 159. It then passed to dealer Ensignbus in December 2005, and was immediately sold to Capital Radio of London, who contracted Southeastern Coachworks to convert it into a mobile studio, complete with towed generator. It was delivered on 6 June 2012, finished in traditional London Transport red livery, but with the LT style underlined gold fleetname being 'Live From The Streets Of London', instead of 'London Transport'. The microphone desk was installed in the downstairs deck, with the upstairs windows blacked out, presumably because that deck was for accommodation. Other features included an illuminated sign on the sides, and neon underlighting, which together with the blacked out windows make it look more like a nightclub/party bus on first appearances. It later received other colour schemes, before returning to LT red a second time, with the standard LT fleetname. With the station becoming part of Global Radio and with developments in vinyl technologies, the bus has since been given multiple different liveries for use in campaigns/projects by a variety of stations around the UK. In October 2014 it was sold to Creative of London, who rebranded it with a Christmas livery and the message "Create audio video events". It retained the desk inside, suggesting continued use as a mobile studio.
