Stamps of the Kingdom of Hungary

Stamps issued by the Kingdom of Hungary from 1871 to 1918. These stamps were used in the following (current) countries: Austria (Burgenland); Croatia; Hungary; Romania; Serbia; Slovakia, west Ukraine, east Slovenia, and by several occupation governments in 1919.

1871 Lithographed edit

Franz Joseph I of Austria (1830-1916), and coat of arms of Hungary. Denomination in Kreuzer or Krajczár. Valid until the end of 1876.

Second issue, engraved, enhanced design quality.

Issues 1874-1881 edit

First text Magyar Kir. Posta (Hungarian Royal Post)- Coloured figures - Watermarks since 1881. Design by J. L'Hiver, F. Haske. Valid until 30 September 1900.
