Strandfaraskip Landsins is the public transport company of the Faroe Islands. It is owned by the Faroese government and runs ferries (Oyggjaleiðir - Island links) and buses (Bygdaleiðir - Village links, blue color).

Note that the international transport by sea is run by 'Smyril Line' (not to be confused with the local ferry M/F Smyril) and 'Faroe Ship'.

Dúgvan was the ferry between Leirvík on Eysturoy and Klaksvík on Borðoy until 2006, when the Norðoyatunnilin opened.

Bygdaleiðir - "Villages' Ways" is the name of the public transport over land by buses.
Helicopter edit
Strandfaraskip Landsins started with the helicopter service in 1984. But today is it run by Atlantic Airways, the state-run airline of the Faroes.
