Where are the Pileateds? I had a pair of them all Spring, now they seem to have disapeared.

Two pair pileatus plus one flew over within minutesEdit

In northeast Texas last week we watched as two pair plus one of these huge woodpeckers flew from a back tree to the front of the property. This morning (10-16) we froze as one flew to the nearest tree and continually scooted around the tree apparently looking for bugs. The first time ever to see one that close-up.
