This template is to be used on images that make use of elements from other images available on Commons.

It provides an easy way to attribute the author of work requiring such attribution.
In future it can allow for tracking of how free images are being used and derived from.

The template automatically sets the following categories: Category:Derivative works

Template parameters

name of a category (used instead of the standard category) empty optional

user(s) who created that image. This information will be displayed as-it-is,
it can be passed in linkable format as e.g. {{U|user}} or as plain text.
When this parameter is provided the other parameter #2 is ignored and no existence check is performed.
