Until 16 March 2023, the Nigerian Copyright Act permitted "the reproduction and distribution of copies of any artistic work permanently situated in a place where it can be viewed by the public." Please do not use this template to any new uploads from 17 March 2023. The Nigerian Copyright Act was amended in December 2022, and one such amendment is restricting the free use of artistic works in public spaces to audio-visual and broadcasting media only. Any new photographic uploads as well as re-uploaded images (like cropped or edited ones) are not allowed on Wikimedia Commons: these will be deleted.
