Template talk:Header

why several subtemplates and no auto language?

It seems this template has several localized versions (e.g. Template:Header/de) instead of a automatic version. And some unsers have added this auto functionality to the main template. Why not the same with all and redir the localized versions to the main template? Well, the uselang link in the upper right corner would be missing. Hmm.. undocumented parameters

The Header template is not producing a proper rendering for my essays, mainly in that the first or only shortcut fails to appear on the screen, apparently because I need an undocumented valueless parameter named after an abbreviation of the page title, which implies that I need to add the abbreviated title somewhere else also, and I don't know where that is. This affects my new pages, Commons:Personality rights and Commons:Nonphotographs, video, and inaccuracies. On the other hand, I've seen a proper display with Commons:Photographs of identifiable people, which has the parameter "Lang-PhotoOfPeople" (without quote marks, an equals sign, or a value), and Commons:Administrators/De-adminship, which has the parameter "Lang-DESYSOP" (likewise without quote marks, an equals sign, or a value). I checked the documentation but it says nothing on point. I asked at the doc's talk page and at the help desk to no avail. How should I get the proper rendering? Thanks. The lang parameter

Looks like the lang parameter is not controlling the language links template name, but instead its first parameter. At least for this page it works that way. Should I update the docs? --YurB (talk) 18:43, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

Demonstrative

translation:demonstrative page was deleted, so in some languages I can see the red link to it in pages that use {{Header}}. I think that {{:translation:demonstrative should be changed with {{Translation:demonstrative (for transcluding {{Translation:demonstrative}}; I'm not sure if ":" is needed or not}). Categorization

This template is being transcluded at Category:Translated templates by language as {{Header|Lang-CatTemplate|CAT:T}} and that categorizes it into Category:T, which is unwanted. Anyone to fix it? -- Tuválkin ✉ ✇ 14:02, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
