Multiple entries edit

Fantastic template. How nice to see this finally done. Thanks to all involved. One issue: some sites have more than one entry on the CRHP (typically when they have been designated by more than one level of government). For example, Guelph City Hall is at both 7446 (National Historic Site) and 10090 (Ontario Heritage Act). Is the preferred option in such cases to insert the template twice, one for each entry, or to revise the template to accommodate more than one entry? And in either case, should the template not include a reference to the type of designation (given that there are two)? Personally I don't have a strong opinion, but thought I would canvass the issue before the template gets too widely used. --Skeezix1000 (talk) 19:56, 27 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Cordialement, Benoit Rochon (talk) 04:49, 28 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hey Skeezix1000, let me first thank you for all the work you have done so far (and so for Fralambert)! You guys are just amazing! It's really great to finally have all this structured a little more. And at the end of the day my personnal goal is that we take part in the Wiki loves Monuments 2012 Canada movement (btw, thx Skeezix to involve me in WLM, it's a great project for Wikimedia Canada). Sooo before I go a little farther with the implementation of this template and launch my bot over the files, I'd like to clearify something... what do you mean by "should the template not include a reference to the type of designation"? Thx to let me know, I'm really bad with Historic sites concept. Benoit Rochon (talk) 05:38, 28 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for the delay in responding. By type of designation, I meant (to keep using the Pulperie de Chicoutimi example) "National Historic Site of Canada" and "Site historique classé (Québec)", so it is clear why the site is listed in the CRHP.

BTW, sorry that I have been so inactive with WLM2012. I just got slammed at work in December, and have been ever since, such that I have not had much time to be involved in Commons/Wikipedia these past few months beyond general maintenance and completing NHSC lists. I will try to get involved a bit more.Skeezix1000 (talk) 22:04, 29 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Does anyone have an objection? --Skeezix1000 (talk) 13:55, 3 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
It looks like using multiple ID parameters adds the image to Category:Historic Places in Canada templates with deprecated parameters --Trougnouf (talk) 12:19, 22 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Trougnouf: I restored the category and added a warning template so that User:Skeezix1000 won't deleted again. Every file should be checked and if it really contains two different monuments, two templates should be added. Multichill (talk) 17:37, 22 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
