Make branch names translatable

Hi, the branch names should be translatable in this template (all linguistic content must be translatable). To that end, I'd like to replace the current code by the following code below (translation string 2 is replaced by a switch on the branch name, so that this name can be fully translated). Could someone please review and let me know about any concerns?

Also, are there plans to move to this new translation of the template, instead of the old one? Currently {{ID-USMil/pt}} is being used for pt, irrespective of what is translated here.
