We had a discussion a long time ago. It was about hide or not to hide. The result of this discussion was, that categories with this template are informative enough. So the categories containig this template should not be hidden. So this template does not contain the template HiddenCat and not the directive __HIDDENCAT__. Let's talk about "HiddenCat" edit
We had a discussion about "HiddenCat" a long time ago. But there are questions about to hide the categories. Should we add "HiddenCat" to the templates and dependend the categories?

By date but not year edit

- Belatedly, I've worked out how to add markup (for categories like Category:Photographs taken on 17 December). However, for single-digit days, a zero is appended ("Category:Photographs taken on 07 December"). How can that be fixed?
