Line breaks edit

How are users supposed to generate the hash? For example, DuckDuckGo offers something like this:

 b2d31086f098254d32314438a863e61e
 MD5 hex hash: secret message

That would translate to:

 $ echo -n "secret message" | md5sum
 b2d31086f098254d32314438a863e61e  -

But would 2a52d002f1a2662bebb4c1d42b5df447 (when used without the -n) be invalid then? Can I convince a potential verifier to add the line break when confirming my identity? Evilninja (talk) 10:34, 29 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
