English: The United States Capitol is the capitol building which serves as home for the United States Congress, the legislative branch of the United States federal government. Federal Hall in New York City served as the original capitol when the United States was a new country. The current U.S. Capitol is located in Washington, D.C., atop Capitol Hill at the east end of the National Mall.
