According to Commons:Freedom of panorama for the USA, and some other countries, we need permission of the creators of 3D works as well as the photographers. With this page we hope to list Commons:OTRS permission ticket numbers for sculptors. If they email the address at the OTRS page they can give us 'blanket' permission to host images of their works. Note that this will not release copyright on the works but merely photographs of them. Discussion can happen on the discussion page of this project. If you are a sculptor and have questions or would like to provide input feel free to join in. Just click the 'discussion' tab at the top of this page. Edit a section and type at the bottom. Preview if you wish and save the page. Don't worry if it looks funny as we can fix formatting.
Why this is a good thingEdit
In my experience sculptors and their heirs, when found and contacted, are mostly very willing to give up their part of copyrights when and where they exist. Some don't even know about them. The same seems mostly to be true of photographers as well. Once we (photographers on the WWW) got past the idea that somehow pictures taken and posted on the internet might generate some financial rewards for the photographer beyond getting their work out, credited, in a fairly public place, most seem happy enough to let us (wikipedia & commons) use them. I believe that this is an attempt to streamline that process and as such is a very good and useful endeavor. Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 18:21, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
