Jaguar E-Type Lightweight are a few of the many E-Type convertibles (roadstersj) that in 1963 and 1964 were (re)built for competition by the factory. It was inspired by the "low drag" coupe, designed by Malcolm Sayer. What they did:

  • aluminum monocoque and body panels
  • aluminum engine block, replaced the cast iron block
  • stripped interior
  • plexiglass instead of glass in side and rear windows
  • weighed 960 kg, 113 kg less than a "regular" E-type and 45 kg less than Ferrari 250
  • chassis numbers had an "S" prefix
  • 11 (of the 12) are thought to survive

Only 12 of 18 were made in 1963/64. The unused body shells (6) were sold to JCB in 1972, who sold it to Guy Black.etypeuk

Jaguar Special Vehicles Operations (SVO) was established in 2014. The last 6 ("Missing Six") were made in 2015.[1]

  • weights 205 pounds less than regular
  • body made by RS Panels.etype
  • 3.9 litre engine, 300 bhp (same numbers as original). Made by Crossthwaite and Gardiner.etype
  • full FIA homologation for participation in historic racing
  • they will keep their original (intended) chassis numbers
  • owners:
    • no. 0 ("Car Zero") prototype, owned by Jaguar (not to be sold). Appeared at Pebble in 2014.
    • no. 1
    • no. 2
    • no. 3 of 6 (15 of 18) owned by Stratstone? Le Mans 2016. Shelshley Walsh 2016. [2] [3] Youtube
    • no. 4
    • no. 5
    • no. 6
  • made in Whitley, then to Gaydon for paint and drive train, then to Jaguar's new facility in Browns Lane in Coventry, for final stage.

Data is something that code takes as input.

All code is data, and (I think) all data is code.

      • the actual content (is code to the actual reader, a human being usually, coded in a natural language etc),
      • markup (headings, fonts, styling), input to the wikitext interpreter before rendering (drawing the content on the screen)
