MISSION COMMUNITY CHURCHEdit
MISSION Community Church is an American Non-Denominational Christian church located in the town of Gilbert, Arizona. MISSION Community Church is well known for its collaborations with various faith-based non-profit organizations that support causes, such as: sex trafficking rescue and rehabilitation, clean water and community building in Africa, and supporting local Arizona families suffering homelessness and hardship.
In 2007, MISSION Community Church teamed up with Homes of Hope, Fiji , a non-profit organization created to help rescue and restore girls and women trafficked into sex slavery and sexual exploitation. Homes of Hope Fiji is a 43-acre village that provides long-term residential care for the rescued girls and their children and is the only place in all of the 300+ islands of Fiji that will house a girl who is pregnant, or has a child. They not only provide housing, but also food, clothing, medical and emotional care, education, and vocational training.
In 2008, MISSION Community Church partnered with House of Refuge East (HRE) to do Justice in our own backyard. HRE is a faith-based, non-profit organization helping homeless families and individuals in crisis by providing transitional housing and supportive services that assist participants as they strive toward self-sufficiency and seek to attain permanent housing. HRE consists of 88 two-bedroom homes and a Chapel/annex all located in a community setting. On any given day approximately 100 adults and 150 children call House of Refuge "home". Because greater than 50% of our residents come from shelters, this will often be the first safe home some children will have experienced.
In May of 2007, MISSION Community Church in partnership with Somebody Cares . MISSION began the partnership by funding the drilling of a borehole that would enable 5000 people to have access to clean water. At the same time, MISSION began our partnership with Home Based Care Workers with four of our small groups supporting workers with monthly donations. Then in February 2008, a Feeding Center was built and rocket stoves were purchased for the village. This made it possible for 920 children to receive a hot meal once a day while attending school. That same year, funds were sent to purchase brick making machines and to lay the foundation for a Child Care Community Center (CCCC). MISSION'S giving toward the villages of Chikudzulire in Malawi, Africa will help support the following projects from Sept 2009 – Dec 2010: 1. Completion of a large Child Care Community Center; 2. Completion of a playground; 3. Food supply for 300 more kids to eats twice a day, plus school uniforms and tuition; 4. Widows program to help 30 widows develop a business and make a living; 5.
