I am primarily a Wikipedian but use the Commons to upload free images of Miss Teen USA, Miss USA and Miss America state and national titleholders.
After an initially shaky start, I learned to use Flickr to my full advantage, as well as conducting thorough searches of military websites... its amazing what can be found!
Last year I branched out to asking Flickr users whether they'd consider releasing their images, and was thrilled and blown away by the generosity of the very many people more than willing to do so. Thanks to their contributions, I have been able to more than double the number of free images of major beauty pageant titleholders available on the Commons. In my mind this is one of the reasons the project is brilliant!
