Lantern (c. 1913), porcelain. Author: Adelaine Alsop Robineau (1865-1929). Designed for candle, upgraded to electric light, its paneled sides are pierced with tiny holes filled with translucent glaze. Inspiration comes from pre-Columbian Mayan style.
