Early Cycladic "Frying Pans"
Early Bronze Age, EC II period, 2800-2300 BC, size 9 to 28 cm. Despite its name certainly did not serve frying. Their purpose is not known. They're probably cult objects remotely similar Shamanic Standards or Mandalas. They are usually ceramic, often concentrically decorated. Decorating is engraved, sometimes filled with white clay. Several of them are made of stone. Usually located on the Cyclades, some are also Attiica, Prepalatial Crete and Asia Minor. Most (of relatively a few known) sites of finds are the graves. On Crete find also remote analogies.
